Why jiu jitsu for kids
The only martial art a bullied kid can use without throwing a punch.
Jiu jitsu is grappling. A child who trains it can control a bigger, aggressive kid, hold them, pin them, and walk away, without striking anyone and without getting anybody suspended.
That capability is what actually creates confidence. Kids who know they can handle themselves stop looking like targets, and the bullying usually ends before it starts.
In every class
What an hour looks like.
Warm-up games
Movement drills disguised as games: rolls, shrimps, bear crawls, tag. Coordination and agility built while they're laughing.
Technique
One or two techniques, drilled with a partner. Escapes and control first, because that's what a real playground situation demands.
Positional rounds
Supervised, matched by size and age. Learning to solve a problem while someone resists is the entire skill, and kids love it.
For parents
What you should know before you sign up.
Hands-on coaching, by design. Every child gets individual attention. Shy kids don't disappear at the back, and energetic ones don't get lost in a crowd.
No experience, no problem. Kids join every week. The class is built to absorb a brand-new white belt without slowing down.
Watch every class. Parent seating is right at the mat's edge. Nothing we do is hidden from you.
Train while they train. Adult classes run alongside the kids' schedule. Plenty of our parents started that way and never left.
